In brief
Solcis has joined NVIDIA Inception. Solcis extends NVIDIA OpenShell from security to compliance, so every agent action is checked against your obligations and recorded as tamper-evident evidence.
Solcis has joined NVIDIA Inception, deepening our work with NVIDIA OpenShell.
Regulated organisations are moving AI agents into production on open infrastructure, and NVIDIA OpenShell is becoming a core part of that stack.
Security keeps agents contained
NVIDIA OpenShell is an open-source runtime that runs each AI agent in its own sandbox. Access is denied by default: declarative policies set which files, tools and networks an agent can reach, and they're enforced from outside the agent's process, so the agent can't turn them off. NVIDIA has also published an OpenShell reference architecture for running agents safely at scale.
Two things make it a strong foundation for regulated organisations. Its controls sit outside the agent, so they hold even if an agent is talked out of its instructions. And it's open: one runtime and one reviewable policy format across every agent, rather than a separate rulebook for each vendor's agent, with room for others to build on it.
For a bank, an insurer or a government agency, containment answers the first question. It doesn't answer the next one: was this action allowed under our compliance obligations, and can we prove it?
Solcis extends it into compliance
Solcis plugs into NVIDIA OpenShell as supervisor middleware. OpenShell decides where an agent may connect; Solcis decides what it may send. Before a request leaves the sandbox, the Solcis Policy Engine checks it against the policies you manage in Solcis Compliance Studio, and it only goes through if Solcis allows it. No change to the agent's code.
Traced to your controls: each runtime policy cites the control and framework requirement behind it.
One set of policies: the same runtime policies apply whether an action runs in NVIDIA OpenShell, through a gateway or past the Solcis Policy Engine.
Evidence, not assurance: every decision is signed and recorded as tamper-evident evidence that your auditors and regulators can verify independently.
NVIDIA OpenShell sets the security boundary. Solcis adds the compliance layer and the record regulated organisations need before agents go live.
Like NVIDIA OpenShell, Solcis is open by design and built to support your policies wherever they're enforced.
What membership means
Through the NVIDIA Inception program, we're working with NVIDIA to help regulated organisations deploy secure, compliant AI agents.
There's plenty more to come. We're focused on making compliance core to how agents are deployed on NVIDIA OpenShell.

About Solcis
Solcis builds sovereign AI compliance software that organisations self-host and control, with a mission to serve the auditors and regulators who hold them to account. Spun out of 6clicks, Solcis offers two products: Solcis Compliance Studio, which integrates with publicly available AI runtimes such as NVIDIA OpenShell and Microsoft's Agent Governance Toolkit; and the Solcis Policy Engine, its own engine for general compliance and business rules.
Frequently asked questions
What is NVIDIA Inception?
NVIDIA Inception brings together companies building at the frontier of AI, with access to NVIDIA’s latest developer resources, training and expertise. Solcis joined to deepen our work on NVIDIA OpenShell, so regulated organisations can deploy AI agents that are secure and compliant from the start.
What does NVIDIA OpenShell do, and what does Solcis add?
NVIDIA OpenShell runs each agent in its own sandbox and controls where it can connect. Solcis adds compliance: before a request leaves the sandbox, OpenShell asks Solcis whether it meets your policies (stopping a card number being sent to an approved API, for example), and each decision is recorded as tamper-evident evidence.
Do I need NVIDIA OpenShell to use Solcis?
No. Solcis Compliance Studio manages where your policies are enforced, across open guardrails including NVIDIA OpenShell and the Solcis Policy Engine. If your agents run on NVIDIA OpenShell, Solcis extends it into compliance. If they don't, you can enforce the same policies through the Solcis Policy Engine.
How do auditors and regulators verify what an agent did?
Every Allow, Deny or Escalate decision is recorded as tamper-evident evidence that auditors and regulators can verify independently. Solcis is self-hosted, so that evidence stays in your own environment.
